
The Collections Preservation Project is underway. The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, National Endowment for the Humanites, National Park Service, and United Technologies are funding Phase I of the project.
Improvements in the archives storage vault include the installation of new fire supression sustem, upgraded HVAC and compact storage equipment. Congressman John Larson and Senators Christopher Dodd and Joseph Lieberman have given their support of this important project.
With the assistance of Watson & Henry Associates, the project architect/engineer, construction bids have been received and a contract awarded. We expect to break ground on the project in May!
As Stowe's 200th birthday approaches, we hope to have over 200,000 items in our collection soundly protected for future generations.
